Vic Thompson

Vic is a Lifestyle Consultant who specialises in assisting those who want to improve their lives through Fitness, whether that is through Personal Training, Nutritional Therapy or Sports Massage Therapy.

Vic trained with Premier Training International to obtain his Diploma in Personal Training in 2003, as a follow up to his Sports Science Degree. This has allowed him to gain well-rounded experience within all areas of Sport and Fitness, such as Anatomy and Physiology, Flexibility, Training, Biomechanics, Postural Analysis or basic Sports Psychology - as well as being able to encourage and excite people of all abilities
to improve their fitness.

As a Fitness Expert, Vic believes in practising what he preaches and has used his knowledge to assist him in completing the London Marathon in 2004, and the Edinburgh and New York Marathons in 2006, shaving 23 minutes from his Personal Best time in New York City.

Vic has also written a number of articles on Nutrition and Fitness for regional newspapers and has recently been featured in the new magazine for single parents - OneUp.

In his role as a Sports Massage Therapist, Vic works hard to ensure that his clients receive only the very best with regard to their treatment and after-care. Sports Massage (also known as Deep Tissue Massage) is aimed at helping to relieve the body of any aches and pains that can come about through stress and working life, as well as assisting those recovering from injury by providing flexibility and rehabilitation exercises.

Contrary to popular belief, Sports Massage is not just for the sporty! It can benefit anyone of any age who has an active or stressful lifestyle. Vic does a full and thorough consultation prior to treatment as well as undertaking PNF flexibility exercises and providing rehabilitation exercises as required.

(PNF stands for Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation and it is a 2 person method of stretching the body that can help to relieve tension in the body and improve flexibility. This is a growing concept that is being used more widely as its benefits become known.)

Nutritional Therapy can be utilised to assist with many different
complaints, including weight loss/gain, lethargy, stress - or even just wanting a bit more knowledge on how to improve your dietary habits. By analysing a 3-5 day diet sheet, a nutritional therapist can help to identify potential areas for improvement of any issues. All that is required to start is an honest and detailed food and drink diary with times of meals and drinks consumed.

Personal Training is Vic's main speciality. Arranged and carried out in your own home or other suitable location, each session is tailored to help meet your fitness goals and targets. Progress is measured via fitness testing which allows you to see exactly how you are doing. All programmes are designed to be fun and motivational - ideal for people who may loathe the idea of going to a gym, or just like the idea of something a little different. Small groups can also be catered for - why not train with a friend?
