Bowen Tachnique
What is it?
The Bowen Technique is a gentle remedial therapy, named after it’s innovator Tom Bowen. The technique involves the therapist using fingers and thumbs to move over muscle, ligament tendon and fascia. The therapy promotes self healing and helps the body to regain structural integrity and balance.
What is involved in a treatment?
The work is very gentle and subtle and involves no hard manipulation or prolonged pressure, making it suitable for adults and children of all ages, including new born babies and the elderly. The gentleness of the technique means it can be particularly good for acute injuries and painful conditions.
Most of the work can be performed through light clothing so there is generally no need for the client to undress
How many treatments will I need?
A treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes to an hour. The first treatment addresses the whole body and will involve an over all assessment and details of client case history. Subsequent treatments aim to tackle specific problems. Most people will need approximately 4 treatments at 5 – 7 days intervals. Most patients, even those with chronic symptoms can get relief after 4 treatments.
